Boxed DVD Sets

Little House on the Prairie is a television series that appeared on NBC during the late 1970s and early 1980s.  During that time it was a top performer in the ratings.  Little House on the Prairie was based on the Little House series written by Laura Ingalls Wilder.  The books documented the author’s life with family growing up in the MidWest with her family and part of her adult life after that.  One of the books in the series, Little House on the Prairie, became the title of the television series.    The television series Little House on the Prairie did take some artistic liberties and many of the episodes were original creations of the television writers of the series.
Little House on the Prairie was set in the Mid-West and was centered on the Ingalls family.  The Ingalls included Michael Landon as Charles Ingalls,  Karen Grassle as Caroline Lake Quiner Ingalls, Melissa Sue Anderson as Mary Amelia Ingalls, Melissa Gilbert as Laura Elizabeth Ingalls, Lindsay and Sidney Greenbush as Caroline Celestia "Carrie" Ingalls, and Wendi and Brenda Turnbaugh as Grace Pearl Ingalls.  These were the original family members of the Ingalls family and were also part of the book.  There are other additions like having the Ingalls adopted son, Albert Quinn Ingalls played by Matthew Laborteaux.

Little House on the Prairie was one of three popular series for the late actor Michael Landon.  Before Little House on the Prairie, he was known for his role as Joe Cartwright on in the television western Bonanza.  He also met success in the series Highway to Heaven as the angel Jonathon Smith.

Little House on the Prairie was a show that continues on today in syndication.  The Hallmark Channel and many other local stations continue to show syndicated episodes of the television series.
