DVD Sets are Popular Holiday Gifts

When the holiday season rolls around people look to give their friends and family something they would enjoy.  They sometimes consider the shows and movies that  the recipient has enjoyed watching and get something related as a great holiday gift.

The Associated Press wrote an article about some suggested DVD collections that gift givers should consider.  The list included : “The Dean Martin Variety Show: Dean’s Ultimate Collection,” “Poldark:The Complete Collection,” “iCarly: The Complete 4th Season,” “The Magic School Bus: The Complete Series,” “The San Francisco Giants 2012 World Series Collector’s Edition,” “Holiday Exclusive 2012 London Olympics DVD Set,” “Poirot: The Early Cases Collection,” “House:The Complete Series,” “The Universe 3-D Blu-ray Set,” and “Doctor Who: Limited Edition Gift Set.”  These DVDs are for different age groups and are selected from different genres.    DVD preferences are subjective and all or none of the listed DVDs will appeal to you, but there are many other collections that are available online or in stores that will make great Christmas presents.

Man Stole over $18,000 in DVDs

A man was arrested after surveillance video showed him stealing DVDs from a display shelf at a Wal-Mart in Traverse City, Michigan.  He admitted to stealing DVDs for over 2 years.   I am not sure if all the thefts occurred at Wal-Mart or if hit other stores.   The article mentioned that he had stolen $18,000 in DVDs.    That really is a lot of DVDs  for anyone to steal.   I wonder if he actually watched the DVDs.  Maybe he stole them to make boat leg copies to sell or if he just sold the copies out right.   The articles did not say what he actually did with the DVDs; I’m just doing a little speculating.
