Without “Madagascar”, and” Madagascar: Return 2 Africa” we would not be seeing “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted” in theaters now. “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted” is experiencing some of the same box office success of its predecessors. The movie opened at number 1 its first week and remained there until its third week when it slipped to number #2 after another computer animated movie, “Brave.” So the worldwide box office sale Madagascar 3 is over $270 million. Worldwide box office sales totaled over $532 million for “Madagascar”, while “Madagascar: Return 2 Africa” had sales that were closer to $600 million. With the amount the amount of money the current movie has made so far, it would be no surprise if it makes as much as the other previous two movies.
Disney re-released the Lion in 3d this past weekend at it ruled the boxed office this go round. It took the number one spot with for the box office sales this weekend. Who would think that a movie originally released in 1942 would continue to have so much mass appeal in 2011- well I guess Disney did. For the week ending on March 4th Nielson has Bambi at number in sales for DVDs and Blu-Ray. The new Bambi diamond release contains bonus features on the 2 disc set that includes a DVD and Blu-Ray disc. This is a cute movie that grandparents and parents would love to share with the children in their lives.
This holiday season Jim Carey will be starring in a new adaptation of Charles Dickens’s “A Christmas Carol.” The original story was published in 1843 and will have seen many incarnations of the story over the years. Now the story will be on the big screen as 3-D animation, like what we saw in The Polar Express. Digital 3-D has allowed Jim Carrey to take on more than the role of Ebenezer Scrooge. He is also the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future. Jim has long shown his ability to play different character from his days of being on the 90s hit “In Living Color.” It will great to see how he lends his voice to character in Disney’s “A Christmas Carol.” The movie opens in theaters everywhere on November 6, 2009 with showings in Disney Digital 3D and IMAX 3D.

The Tinker Bell movie is one movie that is heavy rotation among the kids. Tinker Bell was a character that we were first introduced to in the Peter Pan series and have come to enjoy. We will not be seeing Peter Pan or the Lost Boys in this new Tinker Bell movie, but we will be getting a little glimpse of Wendy. Tinker Bell comes to realize her true value and that leads her to deliver a special item to Wendy on the mainland.
In this movie the relationships of Tinker Bell and her fairy friends are introduced to us. We also get to see the beginning of Tinker Bell and how fairies are actually created.
Kung Fu Panda was a ball of laughs in the theater and will be a hilarious on DVD as well. That funny Panda with his hijinks will give children and adults something to laugh about. This is one of those again-again movies that are kid friendly , but have material that will also grab an adult’s attention. That is great because if you do have to watch a movie over and over again with your kid it might as well be an entertaining movie for you as well.
